Mostyn Estates Farms
All the Estate farms are let on Agricultural Tenancies which is a method of managing the land which has been practiced in various forms since Medieval times. The system enables the landlord and tenant to work together to produced a viable business and manage the land in an environmentally sustainable way. The portfolio of holdings ranges from small holdings with less than 100 acres to farms with over 600 acres. Systems of farming include dairying, beef and sheep farms and mixed stock and arable units. The Estate also encourages diversification on the farms and different enterprises include a horse ride, a model aircraft club and goat’s cheese making.
Many of the farms are occupied by the sons or daughters and in some cases grandsons and granddaughters of former tenants. As and when the farms become vacant it is the Estates policy to re-let to new young farmers.
